Station Managers
sam & Meg abdy

We welcomed Sam and Meg, along with their two young children, to the Heytesbury Pastoral team in February 2026.

They bring a wealth of experience to the business, having worked across stations in both the Northern Territory and Queensland in a range of roles within the northern cattle industry.

Sam first moved to the Northern Territory in 2009, where he began working at Kalala Station as a station hand and helicopter pilot. He spent the next ten years gaining extensive experience across all aspects of station operations.

Sam & Meg met at Kalala Station where she worked as a governess. While working as a governess Meg quickly became involved in many aspects of station life, including fencing, cattle work, mustering, butchering and cooking.

In late 2021, they relocated to Springsure, QLD, where Sam focused on helicopter mustering and Meg worked as a teachers aid until the birth of their second child. Over the past few years, the couple have managed a family-owned retail business.

Together, they bring a practical, hands-on approach to station life and management.
