All Stations
Lead, live and thrive on one of the Northern Territory’s great outback cattle stations.
Birrindudu Station is more than a job. It is an opportunity to take the reins of a vast and iconic pastoral property shaped by the presence of Sturt Creek. We are seeking an experienced, capable and committed management couple ready to lead a large scale and progressive cattle business, supported by a strong company structure and a shared commitment to excellence, safety and people.
Spanning more than 6,700 km² and running over 25,000 head, Birrindudu including Wallamunga offers the scale, diversity and challenge that experienced station managers value. From expansive floodplain country influenced by Sturt Creek to varied land systems across the NT and WA borders, this is a role for those who value leadership, hands on cattle work and sound strategic thinking.
The operation is unique in its scope, with responsibility not only for the breeder herd but also for turnoff and sale numbers. The core focus of the business is the consistent production of high quality Brahman cattle for the live export market, requiring strong stockmanship, attention to detail and a clear understanding of market requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a high-performance team that embrace our vision and share our values.
- Plan and manage the station’s operational budget, ensuring efficient financial performance
- Plan and oversee livestock programs, striving for excellent productivity and continuing to improve and develop the herd
- Manage and execute plans to manage and improve the asset through capital development projects.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Demonstrated industry management experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership position
- Strong understanding of cattle husbandry, livestock welfare, and sustainable land management practices.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team.
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills, together with strong financial acumen.
Why Join Us?
- We offer a highly competitive pay structure based on experience and qualifications.
- Spacious, well maintained beautiful family home provided on-site, with meals included.
- Work with a committed team dedicated to animal welfare and operational excellence.
As a family-owned business with over 35 years of experience, we prioritise a healthy balance between work and lifestyle. We offer employees the chance to engage in social events, including campdrafts, rodeos, fishing trips, and more.
If you have a passion for people and livestock management and are eager to be part of a growing, family-owned Australian pastoral company dedicated to the industry and our communities for the long term, we’d love to hear from you.
